Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate are your pregnancy tests?

Our lab quality tests are 99.5% accurate. It can detect an HCG level of 5. An HCG level of 4 would be negative.

Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely!  Having a friend there for support can really help at a time like this. You may bring anyone you like. However, you may want your friend or family member to wait while you are in the counseling room. This will allow you to confidentially ask questions and discuss your needs with a trained Options Counselor.  At anytime during you appointment you can choose to invite your friend to join you.

Can I have a retest if my test appears to be positive?

Yes, you may be rescheduled for another test. The HCG hormone doubles every 2.2 days during the first three months of pregnancy.

Should I see a doctor if my second test appears to be negative and have not started my period?
If you have concerns about missed periods and your pregnancy test continues to be negative, you should see your health care provider for assessment. If you need resources for health care, Hope Pregnancy Centers can provide you referrals.

What will I do when I get there?
First we will need you to fill out a couple of forms. Then you’ll provide a urine sample that will be used to run the pregnancy test. You will have a chance to share with an options counselor how you are feeling and ask the questions you may have in regards to your possible pregnancy.
